Frequently asked questions
Q: When is the R.S.V.P. deadline?
A: Please reply by September 15th.
Q: Can I bring a guest?
A: Due to limited venue space, we unfortunately can't accommodate plus-ones beyond those named on the wedding invitation.
Q: Are kids welcome?
A: The Hillsboro Club is, at its heart, a family club with lots of activities for guests of all ages to enjoy. While we are unable to accommodate children at the wedding and welcome party, we welcome you to bring your children with you for the weekend. To make things easier, the club provides babysitting services on-site! To reserve, please contact the front desk at (954) 941-2220 option 1.
Q: How can I reserve my stay?
A: To reserve your room accommodations, please contact the Hillsboro Club reservation office at (954) 941-2220 option 2. An advanced deposit will be requested at the time of booking. The Club accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
Q: Do I have to stay at the Hillsboro Club?
A: While we recommend you stay at the club, you can of course elect to stay off campus. In the event that you’re staying off premises, you are welcome to come to the club during day to enjoy the beachfront or activities and participate in the planned daytime events.
Q: Should I rent a car?
A: Ride share services (Uber/Lyft) are readily available at the three local airports. Given that all wedding events will be held on campus, you likely do not need to rent a car for the weekend. However, there is free parking available on campus if you would like to rent a car.
Q: What is “coastal cocktail” attire?
A: Gentlemen are invited to wear a suit or a sport coat with slacks. Ladies can wear knee-length, midi, or maxi dresses, or dressy separates. Feel free to express your style with fun colors, playful patterns, and breezy fabrics!
Q: What is “black tie” attire?
A: We kindly ask that gentlemen wear a tuxedo, and ladies wear an evening gown. Ladies, please consider wearing block heels as you will need to walk on a boardwalk and stilettos can get stuck between the planks.
Q: What time should I arrive for the wedding on Saturday?
A: Please meet in the Living Room at the Hillsboro Club near the lobby area for a champagne toast at 5 pm. From there, you will be escorted to the Van Dusen deck for the ceremony.
Q: What weather can I expect?
A: In November, the average high is 81°F and average low is 66°F. Fingers crossed we get some great weather! Please note that the ceremony is outdoors, but the remainder of the wedding celebrations will be held inside.
Q: Does Hillsboro have any club rules I should be aware of?
A: Yes - the Hillsboro Club has several rules we kindly ask that you uphold as a guest of the club. Please see the “club rules” page for more information!
